Akaroa & the Bays have a dynamic group of artists and creative people. Artists express their creativity in the Akaroa & the Bays community through local art exhibitions, performances, workshops and creative events. Boutique art and craft shops and galleries show off superb local works. Specialist shops offer a tempting variety of goods and those who enjoy walking will find charming lanes, colonial architecture and stunning views along the way. Akaroa is rich in Arts and Crafts with some exquisite local boutiques starting with a must see visit to the 'Little River Art Gallery' as you drive through Little River.


  • We are a community group that promote and encourage art in the community. We run Community arts Initiatives in Akaroa and are instrumental in offering a variety of opportunities for the encouragement of creativity within the community. Projects include ArtSpot, Workshops, Easter Eggstravaganza, Art Xpress, Poetry Day and other art related activities in our community.



  • Akaroa Craft Market is on the grounds of the Presbyterian Trinity Church (1886). It is held on weekends and on cruise ship days over the summer months.
