Akaroa Customer Service Award for Excellence

The Customer Service Award for Excellence gets awarded every month to the best person or business in Akaroa & the Bays.

The Eiffel Tower trophy award goes to the person or the business with the most votes per month. We want our visitors to have the best experiences in Akaroa. And we want you as a happy customer to share your satisfaction with us so we can award the best person or business.

January 2013: The First Ever Customer Service Award for Excellence goes to Pot Pourri. Congratulations!
February 2013: Congratulations to Bruce Sandys from the Akaroa Auto Centre.
March 2013: Congratulations to our Emergency Services (Akaroa Fire Brigade & St Johns) Winners of the Akaroa Customer Service Award for March.
April 2013: No Votes
May 2013: Congratulations to Sue Stewart for all her great work in our community. A well deserved win!
June 2013: The staff at the Akaroa 4 Square deserve every bit of this award for June. Well done girls!
July 2013: Goes to the great job Bondy and the team at Fulton Hogan do. Yes indeed!
August 2013: Jenny Benson from the Akaroa Pharmacy won the Eiffel tower for August for a lot of reasons and certainly does a wonderful job there.
September 2013: Hannah Rose from Bully Hayes won the award for September and Hannah received votes back in January too. You will find Hannah at the Harbar this summer.
October 2013: No Votes
November 2013: Bernie Reid won the award for November for all his voluntary work he does in the community and all the work he does in the Garden of Tane. Well deserved!
December 2013: Frankie Harcot (French Frankie) for his outstanding personality, fun and positiveness. We will miss you in Akaroa Frankie!
January 2014: Studio 67 and Hetties Rock & Crystal Shop shared the award this month. Both shops showed wonderful customer service and went out of their way to help out.
February 2014: Ali Gallagher from Pompallier House, rest home/hospital has turned around Pompallier and the hospital to unite everyone and build up a great standard of care.
March 2014: Well done for winning the Customer Service Award for the second time Pot Pourri. Kate & Marie great service received from you again!
April 2014: Congratulations Julian Yates from Black Cat Cruises and Aroha Waitere & Glenn Roper from the Akaroa Village Inn winning the 'Customer Services Award' for April. Great people who do great jobs!

June 2014: Paul Dickie is known as Mr Odd Job Man, or  "Mr Fix Anything" man. He always does what he says he will do, always arrives when he says he will and always manages to fit in another job in a packed day - no matter how big or small it is.
July 2014: Ken & Yvonne Marshall from The Peninsula General Store won the award for July. Since Ken & Yvonne arrived in our town from the Hawkes Bay and took over the Peninsula General Store they have gone out of their way to be accommodating and helpful. They are always cheerful, the coffee is great and Yvonne’s soups are excellent. It is a great to have them in our town. 
August 2014: Kerry Little from Akaroa Heartlands takes the award for August. She is noted as being a generous, giving, helpful, caring & encouraging person.
September 2014: Jo Dwyer helps the poor people in Christchurch, with food and blankets and organisers aid to get to the needy in the city. 
October 2014: Doug Coxall-Go Couriers Doug is highly efficient in his job and always willing to go the extra mile (literally) to drop parcels off and collect. He has an abundance of energy and he knows the town people well enough to make sure things get delivered in the right place (not an easy job in a rural town) and on time. We are lucky to have him around to do our running around. 
November 2014: Akaroa Girl Guides-Annette Lelievre and Akaroa Couriers-Michael Harrington have won the Customer Service Award for their outstanding work in the Community. Annette for her work with the Girl Guides and Michael Harrigton for his long servive with the Akaroa Couriers. Well done!
December 2014: Gloria Calcutt won the award for December 2014 for her her fundraising work for the Akaroa Hospital. And the new Akaroa Health Hub.    
January 2015: A big congratulations to Silke Lassen for winning the award for January for all her organic vegetables and her cheery postie work!  
February 2015: Christine Tucker won the award for February for all her wonderful work in fundraising for the new Akaroa Health Hub. Great work Christine. 
March 2015: Theresa Castle won the award for March 2015 for her cheerful and great service at the Akaroa 4 Square. 
April 2015: The Akaroa & Bays Lions Club won the award for April 2015 for the great work they do at the Easter Lions paddys market that everyone enjoys so much. 
May 2015: Tracey Pender the best fitness teacher in the east won the award for May. Her classes are fantastic. 
June 2015: Kevin Dysart from Akaroa Physio Clinic won the award for June for his outstanding work as our town's Physiotherapist. He does a top job! 
July 2015: The great team at Fire & Ice: Shaun, Helen, Esther, Margy and Dai win the July award for excellent service in their fabulous shop. 
August 2015: Jason de Vink and his wife Lara Hyland win the Award for August for all the amazing work that they do with the Akaroa Sailing Club teaching the children how to sail in Akaroa Harbour. 
September 2015: The Akaroa Op Shop Girls win the award this month for the work they do with the great second hand clothing shop in Akaroa. 
October 2015: The Akaroa Fire Brigade have had a very busy month and deserve the award always but particulary this month. 
November 2015: Lynne Alexander from Tree Crop Farm in Akaroa won the award for November for her outstanding contribution to public access and the Akaroa walking tracks. Well deserved. 
December 2015: The Rod Donald Trust & Suky Thompson (Trust Manager) won the award for December for all the great work they do improving the walking and cycling access on Banks Peninsula. 
January 2016: Reuben Fergusson from Akaroa Fish & Chip Shop and Steve Pendle from the Akaroa Auto Centre have won the award this month for giving outstanding customer service. Well done Guys. 
February 2016: Peter & Judy Reynolds at Tresori Motor Lodge won the award for their wonderful and colourful floral baskets and gardens at the Motels. 
March 2016: Akaroa Blue Pearl Gallery-  Jacek Pawlowski & the Team have provided fantastic service to many happy customers. 
April 2016: The Akaroa -i-Site Visitor Centre & ADP (Akaroa District Promotions) won the award for April for all their great work on teh wahrf with cruise passengers and through Akaroa. 
May 2016: Akaroa Butchery-Brendan Foster & the team (Ben & Eric) won the award for their great shop with excellent products and a great range. 
June 2016: Akaroa Couriers- Nicolas Harrington. Wonderful friendly service received for a delivery where he didn’t charge much and gave great service.         
July 2016: No Votes
August 2016: Ali Gallagher and her dedicated team at Pompallier House for the terrific job they do looking after the elderly in their care. 
September 2016: No Votes
October 2016: JFC Contracting have done a done a great job with the replacing of Council’s water mains throughout Akaroa. Well done. 
November 2016: Mainly Music-Wendy Weir  and Kerry & Shane Mitchell-Bathgate from the Akaroa Village Inn share the award this month for all their great work in the community. Thank you. 
December 2016: Akaroa Hair Studio -Terri Tietjens & Denise Langrope won the award for December. Well done girls. They do a great job at Akaroa Hair Studio. 
January 2017: Akaroa & the Bays Swimming Club instructor Carol Osgood for all her greeat work teaching the children to swim over the holidays. Well done Carol. 
February 2017: The Akaroa & the Bays Men’s Shed have been quiety pottering away at various projects for the community for ages now. They deserve credit for their work. 
March 2017: Tracey Pender, Akaroa's Fitness Instructor won the award (again) for March. Tracey keeps us all motivated and fit with her fitness classes in the community.    
April 2017: Kevin McSweeney, a great community man. Kevin is an asset to our community with the volunteer work he does around town both for Pompy and as a Cruise Ambassador. 
May 2017: Kevin Dysart, who is another great community man and Navpreet Singh (Duty Manager at Bully Hayes) won the award for May 2017. Great work both of you! 
June 2017: Congratulations to Garden City Helicopters – Westpac Rescue Helicopter for winning the Customer Services Award for June. They do a great job in our community.
July 2017: Dylan Bryan working for St John Ambulance has won the Customer Services Award for July. Well done Dylan. 
August 2017: No votes. 
September 2017: Rebecca Barnett & Biddy Shadbolt from the Akaroa Medical Centre won the award this month for the great work they do for us at the Akaroa Medical Centre.
