Our mission is to provide fresh and tasty organic, gluten free and gourmet food. We source as much as we can locally and from the region. Our organic vegetables are grown here in Akaroa, they are picked and delivered fresh every morning. Our eggs come from very happy, free range hens that live in Robinsons Bay. We also stock local olive oils from Robinsons Bay and Old French Road as well as Salmon from Kingfisher Smokehouse. We have organic, permaculture hazelnuts grown on Banks peninsula and chestnut flour from Lincoln.

Our bread is baked through the night at Vic’s Bakehouse in Christchurch and delivered fresh each morning. We stock organic flour, grains and pulses from Ashburton. We have a good range of artisan pickles, sauces and chutneys from Christchurch, Central Otago, Hamilton and Waiheke Island. Plus an extensive range of organic, gluten free and gourmet products from around the world. The Peninsula General Store is a friendly place to relax or search for a yummy treat. Come in for a chat with friends and enjoy a freshly baked scone, a cup of tea served in a china cup or a fantastic coffee (awarded essential by Lonely Planet) and a handmade Florentine.
