Definitions for the purpose of this competition;

• Professional – someone who derives income from their photography
• Amateur – someone who does not derive money from their photography
• Junior – someone aged 16 and below

Terms and conditions

• Photographs submitted for entry must have been taken during the period 31 October 2025 to 31 January 2026.
• Entrants will retain copyright of their original photographs but, by entering, consent to their names and images being used for reasonable promotion and display purposes by Akaroa District Promotions, HEB Construction, and Akaroa Museum.
• Entrants must ensure that any people identifiable in their photograph(s) have consented to that photograph being exhibited and used in the manner
  described above.
• Images can be minimally edited (for example, cropped, brightness/contrast, adjusted), but we do not allow the addition or removal of major elements (backgrounds, people for example).
• We do not allow the use of AI-generated images or the use of AI tools for editing. If we have any doubts about the authenticity of your photograph, we reserve the right to request the RAW file for inspection. 
• Staff, and their immediate family, of Akaroa Museum and HEB Construction may not enter the competition. Members and their immediate family of the Akaroa District Promotions committee/board may not enter the competition.
• Contractors or others engaged in any work for the above-mentioned organisations may not enter the competition.
• All winners will be notified by telephone or email
• Prizes will be paid by direct credit to the winners’ nominated bank account.
• The judging panel’s decision is final, and we will not enter into any correspondence with entrants.
