A lot of the activities are focused around the beautiful harbour, but there are plenty of land activities too. There are cruises, sail boats, fishing trips, cooking classes, swimming with dolphins, a world famous mosaic & sculpture garden, plus gardens to visit, a penguin & nature tour, an alpaca farm tour, a sheep farm tour, a mail run, golf course and an excellent range of walking tracks. The Giants House:
The Giants House is a world famous mosaic sculpture garden & art gallery, 10 minutes walk from the centre of Akaroa. For more information on it go HERE. 
Opening Hours: 26th December 2017 to end April 2018. 12-5 pm every day
1st May to 30th September 2018  11 am - 2 pm every day
1st October to 24th December 2018 12-4 pm every day.

Akaroa Craft Market:
The Akaroa Craft market will be happening on every cruise ship day. This is at Trinity Church Grounds 15 minutes walk from the main wharf (or take the free loop shuttle to other end of town). There is also another market situated next to the supermarket car park. 

Akaroa Farmers Market:
The Akaroa Farmers Market is open October to April every Saturday morning from 9.30 to 1pm.  In the Madeira car park on the main road in Akaroa. Banks Peninsula has an abundance of produce and a great micro-climate and lots of passionate gardeners. For sale you will find locally grown fruit, veges, herbs, honey, olive oil, olives, nuts and flowers plus locally produced preserves, pickles, jams, sauces, bread, pastries, cheeses, honey, lavender products and plants and lots more.

50 minutes long trips. $79 for adults. $45 for children.
Can take 18 persons. Book at wharf cabin or Akaroa Jet, 61 Beach Rd. 

Akaroa Adventure Centre:
Operating from Rue Lavaud Shop. 03 304 7784. Kayak and bike hire + Stand up Paddleboard Hire.  
Costs are:

SUP Paddle Board Hire: 1 hour  -  $20 per person            half a day (4hrs)  -   $45 per person        

Kayaking: 1 hour  -  $20 per person             half a day (4hrs)  -   $45 per person        
Full day kayak hire $60 

Cycling:    1hour -   $15 per person             half a day (4hrs) -    $35 per person
Full day bike hire $65

We also rent Pedal Boats.

One of the world's prettiest settings to challenge your putting skills. Set amongst native pungas, cabbage trees (the NZ palm), a relaxed activity for the relaxed!
Address: Rue Jolie, next to the Recreation Ground. Look for the sandwich board.
$9.50 for adults, $7 for school kids. $3.50 for teenie weenies. Open weekends and school holidays.
