Our name, Caldera, is inspired by the area’s volcanic history, with mineral-rich soils that provide the perfect foundation for growing exceptional grapes. The volcanic origins of the land play a crucial role in producing wines with distinct flavours that showcase the unique terroir of Akaroa.
We believe in producing wines that focus on quality rather than quantity. Each vintage is limited to fewer than 2,000 bottles, ensuring that every bottle we produce receives the utmost care and attention. Our range includes a crisp Sauvignon Blanc, with bright citrus and herbaceous notes, an elegant Pinot Gris full of ripe pear and stone fruit flavours, and our signature Central Otago Pinot Noir, which is rich, complex, and earthy. For something a bit lighter, our Ember Rosé offers fresh berry flavours with a subtle spice, perfect for a warm day.
While the vineyard is not involved in winemaking on-site, we collaborate with some of the region’s best winemakers to create wines that capture the essence of Canterbury and Central Otago.
