After the excitement, crowds and celebrations of October’s French Fest, we’ve finally had a chance to catch our breath.
But there’s no slowing down just yet! November is shaping up to be another beauty, with longer days, warmer weather, markets returning and the much anticipated Inside Out Akaroa House & Garden Tour.
Summer is knocking, the harbour is looking gorgeous and there are plenty of reasons to plan a visit. Whether it’s a weekend escape, a midweek wander or a longer holiday, Akaroa and the Bays are ready to welcome you.

Show Weekend
Show Weekend is the perfect excuse to escape to Akaroa & The Bays! Friday the 13th November is a public holiday for those lucky enough to call Christchurch home and with summer temperatures starting to make an appearance there’s plenty happening around the harbour.
Whether you’re keen to explore a new walking track, get out on the water, enjoy a long lunch, discover a hidden beach or simply relax and soak up those spectacular harbour views, there’s something for everyone.
Just over an hour from Christchurch, it’s time to swap the everyday for a little Banks Peninsula adventure!
Akaroa Inside Out Tour
Akaroa’s spectacular Inside Out House & Garden Tour returns on 21–22 November 2026, offering a rare chance to explore 14 beautiful homes and private gardens, many normally hidden from public view. This biennial event features a mix of historic cottages, contemporary coastal homes and stunning gardens, all showcasing the creativity, character and unique landscapes of Akaroa and the surrounding bays. Enjoy a flexible self-drive tour at your own pace, while supporting the Friends of the Akaroa Museum, with funds raised going towards museum purchases, restoration and projects.
